Overview:

Existing social media platforms have transformed in recent years. The promise of free advertising has resulted in monied interests taking advantage of once vibrant and well-meaning communities. Toxic users, fake profiles, corporate and political agendas often dominate our screentime, can threaten our well being and even the very foundations on which our societies are built.

What is needed is a non-profit platform focus on the social goos that allows people to interact, earning revenue off their content, instead of making tech companies even richer.

Monetization:

There are existing platforms that allow users to earn revenue. Websites like Kickstarter, GoFundMe, and Patreon offer solutions for connecting content creators with audiences willing to support their work. These solutions fulfill a need, but they are fragmented and specific to individual projects and teams.

Geo is part of a new effort to consolidate socially-funded content. There is no charge for content creators and end-users pay a low monthly fee to gain access to a wide variety of premium content across many different platforms and blogs.

Geo:

We puts these pieces together, providing a non-profit platform where content creators earn revenue from their work. We delete accounts and content that promote violence or any kind of discrimination. This is also not a place for affiliate marketing or profit-driven startups.

If you are a writer, artist, traveler, journalist or organization focused on improving our environment and communities, you are welcome on our platform.

Geo users benefit from a safe and secure place to host their content and a network of like-minded individuals. This allows for meaningful interactions, long-format discussion, and more thoughtful feedback.

Underserved or disadvantaged communities are encouraged to participate and in this capacity, Geo provides an opportunity, connecting professionals from all around the world.
